Dogs Can’t Learn When They’re Stressed

Dogs aren’t intellectual creatures, they’re emotional. They have hard-wired fight-or-flight responses, are very territorial and very protective of us (which is one of the reasons we love them so much).

When a dog gets stressed, those powerful protective responses take over and the dog goes straight into his habitual responses... than that means he can’t learn anything new.

I have special techniques I use to de-stress and relax dogs. My methods reward the calm state of mind and interrupt the dog’s habitual thought processes. This allows their brains to calm down and be trained... and that allows me to create fast and lasting changes in the dog’s behaviour.

Not Just For Problem Dogs

While I work with badly-behaved dogs – often because I’ve been recommended by other trainers – my methods work with all dogs and puppies.
